Rome, Italy (3)

Posted by admin

I visited Rome, Italy in January 2008.

I know European hotels are small but this place was tiny! But it was quite nice and very clean (though I could barely fit in the shower!).

If you’re ever in Rome and want a nice, clean, affordable place to stay located in a very convenient area, this is:
Eurostars International Palace on Via Nazionale. They have free internet too!

Rome Total War BI- Saxon Chronicles Episode 1

Posted by admin

Saxon Chronicles is a series of videos about the Saxon campaign in Rome’s expansion- Barbarian Invasion.

This faction is very fun to play as all of its infantry can form good defensive position by using a shield wall formation. Saxon’s starting position allows the player to play the campaign in many different ways- invading the British Isles, fighting with other barbarian factions or even overtaking the Western Empires’ lands.

It’s my first chronicle so pleas be easy with your ratings and comments.

Which hotels in rome, florence, and north of italy do you recommend?

Posted by admin

I am looking to go on Sep 2007???

Try www.venere.com they have lots of Italian accomodation. You can choose by city, area, type and price. They don't charge you to book as you pay when you check out of the hotels and you can look at the customer feedback to see how they really are.

Buona fortuna

What are the top ten not-to-be-missed tourist spots in Italy?

Posted by admin

I'm going to Italy for two weeks and want to know the top places not to miss! And not just the obvious ones like Rome, Venice and Pisa… Maybe places either a little more out there or unheard of!

Well the obvious ones you aready know of;
Rome:
-Trevi Fountain
-The Sistine Chapel
-The Pieta by Michelangelo
-The Vatican
-Patheon
-Coloseum
-Basilica di San Clemente
-Roman Forum

I would recommend to buy an everyday bus ticket, that leaves you in the most important areas. It's not that expensive and it saves you a lot of time. And remember if you are under 26 years (or a student) you usually get discounts in museums.

Florence:
-Michelangelo's David at the Accademia Gallery
-Climb the Cupola (dome) of the Duomo
-Piazza della Signoria
-Santa Croce
-Dante's House
-Tombs of the Famous

Venice:
-Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale)
-Saint Mark's Basilica (Basilica di San Marco)
-St. Mary of the Friars (Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari)
-Grand Canal
-St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco)
-Palazzo Grassi

Also you might like to take a look to Milan, very important fashion city, and if you have time deff take a look at Campania, http://www.thereareplaces.com/Guidebook/pdest/italy/campania.htm
or maybe Sicily, http://www.thereareplaces.com/Guidebook/pdest/italy/sicily.htm
It all depends on your personal taste.

Hope it helps, have fun in your trip.

Should the children of the first Christians been allowed to continue celebrating holidays of their ancestors?

Posted by admin

The first Christians were of Jewish origin, but as it spread, Christians came from various religions of Greece, Rome, and other lands. Were these children being deprived or otherwise harmed by their parents by not allowing them to continue the traditional holidays and observances of Judaism and the other religions?

Being Christian is following Christ…therefore Christ set the example for us to follow…
There are many claiming to be Christian and following man!
