when is the best time to go to Paris and Rome to avoid tourists?
Posted by admin
I need to know the ideal time to visit Paris and Rome without running into the crowds. What time of year is best to go to these places?
You'll never completely escape crowds in either city. The best trade-off between crowds and weather here (I live in Italy) is either before tourist season gets into full swing (May- the first half of June) or after the end of the season (September-Oct).
However, there are lots of interesting things to see and do throughout the year and some can only be experienced at particular times. For example, the Eurochocolate Festival in Perugia is a huge event toward the end of October or there's a very good truffle festival in the small Tuscan hill town San Miniato over three weekends in November. Carnevale is for the most part celebrated in the winter - February next year.
non tourist things to do in venice and rome?

I am going to spend 10 days in Italy at the end of July. What are the best non-tourist things to do? i love water and tipical food (food of the natives). Any day trip recommendations? Is it enough time to visit Rome? If so, what are best non-tourist things to do in Rome. Or should i visit another city instead? help!
Finally, any hostel recommendations in Venice or Rome?
First of all, italy in july is very hot, so bring with you t-shirts and shorts.
Day trip recommended while in rome is tivoli, with the roman villas (villa adriana and villa d'este). http://www.tibursuperbum.it/eng/monumenti/index.htm
In venice a day-trip recommended is to murano, where there are the glass factories.
While in rome you must:
1) eat a croissant after midnight (there are some "cornetterie" that open late in the night. The best one is in Via Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli, 63.
2) Go to milvio bridge, where the lovers where lovers chain their “lock of love” to the bridge http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3345/3314271174_5716f7699f.jpg?v=0
3) Make a cruise on the tevere river http://www.battellidiroma.it/index_en.asp
4) climb the s. peter's cupola and look at rome from the sky
5) eat the tipical roman food in the restaurant la cisterna, in trastevere zone http://www.lacisterna.com/
As a tourist where to go in rome, afternoon and where is the best for shopping in Rome?

Do many tourists in Rome get mugged by Romanian gypsies?
Posted by admin
OMFG The ignorance in this site is getting even bigger.Off course NOT.The Italian mafia is super famous so i pretty much guess obviously the Romanians aren't the problem.Romania unfortunately got straggled after communism who in fact destroyed the country and didn't make anything better as they promised to us.Also ignorant and racist people like YOU who don't understand probably by giving NO job to the poor Romanians they force them to steal and kill.We Romanians we are in general a very hostile, gentle and friendly nation. But some westerners and other powers (Byzantines,Soviets,Ottomans) they exploited our friendliness and they humiliated us.And Romanians are 93% Slavs and there are and 4% Greeks who live there the gypsies make up a small minority. And if you knew more things about history you never had post this swallow question, cause those ''gypsies'' the Roma or Tsigagni are people of a very high culture, deep and ancient. And they inspire many important cultures like the Spanish. The name gypsy by the way idiot came from the word ''Egyptian'' cause Byzantines thought that these nomads came from Egypt.Athiganous are the nomads of Europe. And Romanian women aren't prostitudes. italian mafia is famous WORLD WIDE i pretty much guess there are Italian women wh0r3s too.So please give me a break and remove this idiot question.I am Romanian living in Greece and my father (Romanian) is bussness man here with a higher wallet than your own.

Me and Omer decided to meet up in Rome and enjoy the city’s rich history together. Omer was coming from Pakistan on a training visit and i decided to take time off from work here in the UK. As it was our first visit to Italy so to be honest we were not sure what to expect but i assure you Rome did not disappoint. Really enjoyed the historical heritage, beautiful people and tourist attractions. Definitely looking forward to visiting it again some time in the future!

Rome - Italy

Now we are in Rome, the capital of Italy. I didn’t have enough time to visit all the monuments, as I only stayed there for two nights. Because there are so many tourist attractions to see in Rome, unfortunately I can’t name them all, but one in particular was the Colosseum, where the Gladiators was held back in the Roman Times, and the other one was St. Peter’s Square in Vatican City, which is home to the pope.

A slideshow of various photos I took while in Italy last summer.
And yes, the song is Viva la Vida by Coldplay. I found fitting for this because the theme of the song really fits the section on Rome and the fallen Roman empire - they used to “rule the world,” and because it’s just an awesome song.
